A Community Safety Audit helps people evaluate safety concerns in an area and to identify changes that could be made to render it safer for everyone. During a Safety Audit, participants walk around a designated area, such as a neighbourhood street, recreational pathway/park or local bus stop and identify possible safety concerns from the criteria on their checklist. Local residents, businesses, police, and nt political affiliates are encouraged to participate to voice their concerns. The findings are then used to form the basis for an action plan to address those issues and make the area safer.
